Welcome .jpg)
Community Action is one of thirty-eight Rural Community Councils and is an independent registered charity. With the support of our main funders the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and the three unitary authorities of Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire we provide information and advice on a wide range of community projects and rural services. We also seek to influence policies at local and regional level and work in partnership with providers to improve the quality and level of services to people in rural areas.
Community Action’s professional staff are managed and directed by a voluntary Board of Trustees who are themselves active in rural areas. Our staff and volunteers have a wealth of knowledge and experience which enables them to help communities directly.
Community Action has an equal opportunities policy and we aim to include anyone who wishes to be involved in our work and also to encourage best practice in voluntary organisations with regard to equal opportunities.
By becoming a member of Community Action you will be supporting our work and maintaining close links with rural communities. You will be entitled to delegate someone from your organisation to vote on your behalf on matters raised at the AGM; individual members will be able to vote in their own right; members may be nominated for election to our Board of Trustees. You will receive our magazine three times a year plus a copy of our annual report and accounts and will be invited to a variety of seminars and events. If you need help with funding our team will be pleased to advise.
