Community Action is a registered charity that works to support mainly rural communities based in the West of England covering North Somerset, Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire. We were founded in 1974 and since that time we have helped numerous groups and individuals.
We support and encourage community-led action and strong local governance; we work with groups and communities to increase long-term sustainability of local community life and we influence policies and services in order to achieve equity particularly for rural communities.
As a member of the family of Rural Community Councils (RCCs) working across the whole of England, we are able to draw on support, influence and expertise from our colleagues in other areas.
Community Action works to:
